FINLAND goes SADIS 2G with MESSIR-AERO

The FINLAND Civil Aviation Administration (now a commercial enterprise known as FINAVIA) moved to SADIS 2G with MESSIR-AERO.

FINAVIA manages 25 airports in Finland, including Helsinki Vantaa and offers a high standard of safe, internationally competitive services to passengers, airlines, the defence forces, the business community and Finnish society as a whole.

FINAVIA was in need to renew its SADIS reception and processing system with SADIS 2G. After a competitive tender, FINAVIA selected COROBOR who installed the MESSIR-AERO system at Helsinki Vantaa.

This MESSIR-AERO / SADIS 2G system is another impressive reference for COROBOR in Finland, after the MESSIR-COMM GTS Message Switching System installed at FMI ( Finland NMS) in 1999 and working since then without any interruption at full satisfaction of the users.

The MESSIR-AERO system for Finland includes the standard features of a SADIS 2G system: display of OPMET, METAR, TAF, GRIBs, new BUFR-coded SIGWX charts, etc….

MESSIR-AERO also includes the specific COROBOR functions which make duty so easy: automatic production of complete meteo flight folders, archiving of printed flight folders, SIGMET plotting, cross-sections, easy set-up of flight areas and customized map background, etc…

MESSIR-AERO in FINLAND includes some specific topics requested by FINAVIA and which can also be installed on other sites: interface to AFTN, automatic analysis of AFTN FPL (Flight Plans) and automatic production of the flight folder corresponding to the FPL, FIR, AIRWAY and WAYPOINT database, hot stand-by configuration including two SADIS 2G receivers and two workstations receiving in parallel, ALOFT queries, SADIS data distribution to other systems.
