The United Arab Emirates opt for MESSIR-Systems

The U.A.E. Armed Forces have recently opted for MESSIR Systems as part of their bid to modernise the Forces' meteorological facilities.
MESSIR systems were installed at the U.A.E. Armed Froces headquarters in Abu Dhabi in August 2000.
This new project is the result of a tender supervised by the World Meteorological Organisation.
COROBOR was chosen for its capacity to provide quickly a solution adapted to the particular needs of the U.A.E. Armed Forces.

Abu Dhabi now benefiting from MESSIR Systems

After a visit on site and thorough discussions with the project team led by Dr A.S.A. Khalil, the United Nations Development Program Consultant, COROBOR experts were able to think up and develop new, tailor-made system features which include for example the creation of an "audio conference" module designed for the direct integration of audio-recorded material into pre-defined Weather Forecasting Forms.
This new module will give forecasters the ability to improve end-users' met briefings by including audio-recorded comments.
A special version of MESSIR-COMM will also be supplied to the Armed Forces meteorologists for the ingestion and automatic dispatch of data coming from a wide range of sources including PDUS, MDD, HRPT, RADAR, GTS, AFTN, ….
A customised MESSIR-VISION workstation will ensure the display of ingested data and the production of charts and complete meteorological briefing for end-users such as airports and the U.A.E. Navy. These end-users will be equipped with ten workstations supplied by COROBOR.
