MESSIR operational in QATAR
COROBOR completed in April 2002 the installation of a complete MESSIR configuration at the Directory of Civil Aviation and Meteorology of Qatar.

Systems now installed at the DCAM include 1 MESSIR-COMM Message Switching System, 2 MESSIR-VISION Forecaster’s Workstations, 1 MESSIR-AERO Pilot Met Briefing and 1 MESSIR-MEDIA workstation for the production of weather shows for TV.

The MESSIR-COMM switch handles connections to Jeddah and Abu Dhabi, to the AFTN network, to several regional sites and to remote MESSIR-AERO and MESSIR-VISION systems located at the Doha Airport and at the Marine Met Office.

MESSIR-COMM also receives data from SADIS and MDD satellite systems.

This important project follows the installation of complete MESSIR configurations at the UAE armed forces headquarters in Abu Dhabi last year and at the Yemen Civil Aviation and Meteorological Authority (CAMA) in March 2002.
