Singapore opts for complete MESSIR solution : COMM, VISION and AERO

COROBOR engineers have just completed the installation of a complete MESSIR configuration at the Met Service Singapore.
This new project was carried out in collaboration with Fujitsu Singapore and included the delivery of a MESSIR-COMM GTS Message Switch, 8 MESSIR-VISION Forecaster's Workstations and 2 MESSIR-AERO Pilot Met Briefing Systems.
The MESSIR-VISION workstations have been installed at the Met Service and at various remote sites across the country.
These workstations are used to receive and display meteorological data and are connected to the MESSIR-COMM system.
The MESSIR-COMM switch manages connections to Manila, Brunei, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta and to the AFTN network.
MESSIR-COMM
also receives data from SADIS, WAFS-ISCS, and from various other systems including radar, satellite, lightning system, and wind profiler. It also includes Web Server and Fax-on-demand functions.
MESSIR-COMM is connected to the MESSIR-VISION workstations and to the MESSIR-AERO system located at the airport.
This is the second project COROBOR has won in Asia since the beginning of the year 2001 : the first was for the supply of a complete OPMET System to the Thailand Meteorological Department, including telecommunications, Forecaster Workstations, Pilot Met Briefing Workstations.
