| THE
MET OFFICE (UK), one of the world's major providers
of weather products, has selected the COROBOR
MESSIR-COMM System for the renewal of its message
switching and telecommunication facilities. MESSIR-COMM
has been installed at the Bracknell RTH and now handles around
200 circuits including international GTS connections and X400
links. Among the international connections are Washington,
Copenhagen, Brussels, Toulouse, Dublin, Offenbach, Madrid, Moscow,
Rome, Reykjavik, Lisbon, De bilt in Holland and Oslo.
MESSIR-COMM also handles the flow of
SADIS data distributed worldwide by the Met Office.
The Met Office is one of the world's leading meteorological
data distribution centres and COROBOR is proud
to have been selected for this major project.
This new success is the result of an open tender which
has seen COROBOR teaming up with Hewlett Packard
UK, who supplied the hardware for the MESSIR-COMM
telecommunications system which runs on two powerful Hewlett
Packard Servers in a hot stand-by configuration.
This HP / COROBOR partnership represents a
fine combination between HP's well established know-how in the
IT world and COROBOR's expertise in the meteorological
field.
With this new success, COROBOR Systèmes
has become the World Leader in the supply of GTS Meteorological
Message Switches with similar systems recently and successfully
installed in Sweden (Norrkoping RTH), Holland, Greece and Singapore.
