COROBOR Systèmes has just
successfully completed the first phase of a seven-fold project
consisting in the installation of MESSIR-AFTN Message Switching
Systems in Toulouse and six French overseas territories.
The first MESSIR-AFTN system was turned operational in
March in beautiful Tahiti. This successful installation will soon
be followed by others in New Caledonia, Reunion, Guadeloupe, Martinique,
Guyana and Toulouse as part of a contract signed with the French
Civil Aviation Authority (STNA).
During its first three months of operation, MESSIR-AFTN
has been giving full satisfaction to all users at the Papeete
Fa'a Airport. Jean-Louis Thomas, the airport Technical Director,
said : “I would like to underline the excellent collaboration
of the COROBOR staff who have always complied with our
requirements. I would also like to stress the excellent quality
of the equipment supplied which is very user-friendly, and the
quality of the training supplied which was appreciated by all.”
The MESSIR-AFTN system was delivered in a hot stand-by
configuration and handles telegraphic and X25 lines including
an international connection to Christchurch in New Zealand.
