| COROBOR
systèmes is currently completing one of the company's largest projects
in Greece with the installation of MESSIR systems at the Hellenic
National Meteorological Service and at the New Athens International
Airport - the airport of the Olympics 2004 (to be inaugurated in March
2001).
The first project started in June with the installation of a MESSIR-AFTN
Message Switching System with 12 AFTN, NOTAM and Flight Plan terminals
at the New Athens International Airport.
A MESSIR-AERO hot stand-by server dedicated to Pilot Met Briefing
was already installed at the airport in January 2001. This system
handles reception of data from SADIS, METEOSAT/SDUS, AWOS, as well
as connections to the AFTN network and to the Hellenic National Meteorological
Service. A total of 6 MESSIR-AERO Met Briefing PCs were
also installed at various locations within the airport and 3 MESSIR-VISION
workstations were installed at the airport Met Office.
The NAI Airport is expected to provide the main transport gateway
for the 2004 Olympic Games and MESSIR-AFTN will ensure the
perfect handling of AFTN messages, NOTAMs, Flight Plans and meteorological
data.
The second COROBOR project in Greece was completed in February
2001 with the supply of a MESSIR-COMM Meteorological Message
Switching system and
MESSIR-VISION workstations to the Hellenic National Meteorological
Service in Athens. |
